“Parasite” is one example of the satire comedy film that has just won the Best Picture Oscar 2020. As we have seen, the film directed and written by Bong Joon-ho raises the issue of social inequality in South Korea. Where the Kim family is a representation of the marginal and the Park family as a rich family.
“Parasite” presents the Kim family as a group of opportunists because they live in need. We are not made sorry for the poor family of Kim, but rather amazed by their actions and how funny their way of thinking. Ranging from expecting food rather than antique sculptures, looking for wifi signals in the bathroom, to smooth the action of tricking the Park family by acting.
With a touch of thriller and surprise here and there, Parasite is one of the original films that succeeded in opening our eyes to a serious issue in a fun way.
